Yiwen Cui is a Lecturer and Researcher in Landscape Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington. His current research concerns about the cultural diversity, sense of community, and the community participation processes in the planning and design of public open space. Recognising the importance of involving local communities, he strives to identify and implement effective strategies that enable active participation and co-creation and promote a higher sense of community. By understanding the specific needs, values, and aspirations of different ethnic groups, he seeks to bridge the gaps, and ensures their voices are heard and their cultural identities are celebrated.
