This essay's purpose is to consider the direction and leadership Te Ropu Whakahau, the Maori Library and Information Workers Association, Library Institutions and individuals can give to the complex issues facing contemporary librarians in the ongoing survival of Maori as Maori and the selection, maintenance and dissemination of Maori information resources.
