Architectural Liberation

<p><strong>This thesis seeks to question the relationship between architecture and capitalism, in the hopes of identifying areas of underperformance in pursuit of radical solutions that reorientate the architectural practice towards a more equitable, sustainable future. The purpose is to create a framework of principles in response to the findings that architecture’s current relationship with capitalist society does foster inequalities that impede the human experience of architecture. Both this research and the framework are to be used as an informative tool to reorientate the relationship between architecture and capitalism towards human needs and environmental sustainability. This is done with the hopes that in the future, architects will be the drivers of change in establishing a more equitable, socially interconnected and environmentally conscious society which offers a richer quality of life for everyone, rather than a privileged minority.</strong></p>
