Despite the great development of
school broadcasting in recent years, the early stages of it growth were beset with difficulties. Low powered stations, high price sets,
varied reception, which naturally followed from
the geographical configuration of the country
(broadcast having to cover many degrees of latitude), times of depression when school subsidies were withdrawn, all these things - in addition to
the skepticism which ever attends any innovation- militated against the development of school radio.
