Jojo Rabbit: life is not beautiful, but it is precious
This piece is a crtitical reflection of Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit. The article considers the film in the context of the history of attempts to use comedy to approach the Holocaust. It argues that Jojo Rabbit skilfully threads a difficult balance between fact and fiction, employing comedy to unlock rather than conceal the horrors of Nazism.
