This paper sets out a recipe for Kai-dness and the associated lessons learnt by the Kai-dness crew through the act of providing kai for the Social Movements, Resistance and Social Change Conference attendees. It suggests that there is power in kai as a tool for providing the platform for social change and transformation. Key-words – Kai, zero waste kaupapa, politics of food, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga
